- Unit III:(Calculus) Limits, standard formulae and problems; differentiation from first principles, the product and quotient rules, methods of differentiation and applications of the derivative; integration by the product rule and by substitution.
Course Learning Objective
- Prove the binomial theorem, apply it to expand (x + y)n, and solve related problems.
- Work with sequences and series and solve problems involving them.
- Explain the principle of counting and apply it to permutations and combinations in different cases.
- Explain the trigonometric ratios, evaluate them for sums of angles and for multiple and submultiple angles, and solve problems using the transformations.
- Find the limit and derivative of a function at a point, and its definite and indefinite integrals.
- Find the points of minimum and maximum of a function.
