The role of the Vice-Chancellor
The Vice-Chancellor leads the university. He provides strategic directions and leadership to the university,and to positions and represents the university regionally, nationally and internationally. He is aided by the Deans of the various schools in policy decisions.
The Vice-Chancellor chairs principal university bodies, and/or nominates deputies to chair others. He works closely to ensure a coherent vision across all the constituent parts of the university, and works with Court, Executive Council, Academic Council, Finance Committee,etc. to ensure effective governance, management and administration of the university.
